Do you avoid writing down your plans?
Could a simple one pager change this?
I flew back into Avalon on Sunday night after an intense 2 days of training with marketing guru, Taki Moore. The content of his program and his energetic delivery style is amazing! My head is still spinning.
The final topic of the weekend was titled, Runway and it’s just a quick takeaway that I thought I would share with you. It essentially brought the program together by preparing a rough and ready business plan that can be used as a weekly tool while keeping you focused on the big picture. In essence it’s about starting with the global view of where your business is heading and breaking it down into shorter timeframes to ensure that implementation occurs.
I have a short form strategic plan format and a one page plan template but I really like the way that this format makes it time sensitive. Taki’s Black Belt Business Plan consists of 4 quadrants which gives you a simple framework to capture both your long term and short term thoughts.
30,000ft | 3 Years | Vision
What are we building? Why does our business exist? What is our point of difference?
20,000 | 12 Months | Goals
What will we measure? What is the size of our revenues, customer base, team, facilities & production?
10,000 | 90 Days | Projects
What 3 critical projects do we we need to work on in the next 3 months?
Runway | This Week | Actions
What are the 3 focused actions that we are going to complete this week?
Simple! You really just need one sheet of paper with four quadrants and fill in the missing pieces. I think that it’s a great way to lay out your plan and keep the implementation focus. I hope that you like it too.
I’ve put a plan together using a mindmap so if anyone would would like a copy drop me a line at richard@coumans.com.au. Happy planning!
